Other Stuff

Hello, Spring

It looks like spring has arrived, if by spring I mean rain in Santa Monica (what is this liquid?!) and snow in Pennsylvania. Mother Nature is a big fan of April Fool's Day. Huge.

Since warm sunny days are definitely ahead, we're celebrating with a $50 Gift Card Giveaway over on the GCOGH Facebook page. Super easy to enter and ends 4.11. The winner will be able to choose from any of the retailers that GCOGH works with. Good luck!

Chic Eats

I'm excited to share that we've expanded our little Go Chic or Go Home family to include Chic Eats, a blog featuring everyday, seasonal, and regional food. It's time that my thoughts about pancakes and butter find a home other than GCOGH outfit photos.

To celebrate we're giving away a $100 Amazon Gift Card on the Chic Eats Facebook page. Would love for you to stop by!

Simple Pleasures

Recently we ran a gift card giveaway on our Facebook page, and to enter members were asked to share a simple pleasure they had enjoyed or planned to enjoy that week. The answers made me smile so I had some fun and made a word cloud out of them. Reading, family, all forms of caffeine, and cookies - GCOGHers have good taste.

Happy Weekend!

Puddle Jumpers

It has been raining all day in Santa Monica. Naturally this means I'm going to take a break (procrastinate) and look at pretty rain-related photos on the Interwebs. To celebrate the fact that SoCal has some weather (and so I have an excuse to post my photo haul), let's do a giveaway! Upload an outfit or inspiration image between now and Sunday and you'll be entered to win a $50 gift card to any of the retailers we work with. Easy!

Now for some random rain photos. On the left is The Puddle Jumper taken in 1934 by Martin Munkácsi. He's known for saying, "Think while you shoot." Good advice. On the right is Homage to Munkácsi taken in 1957 by Richard Avedon. It's not a waste of time if you're learning something, right?

And here are some small people in boots ... jumping puddles. Hope your weekend is this happy! (Photos link to sources.)

In honor of Monocle: Red Delicious we're giving away TWO $50 gift cards on our Facebook page. Entry is easy, simply stop by and tell us about your favorite apple related food! Ends Sunday 11-18.

Behind the Curve

I finally started using Instagram.  I love Instagram. And as is clear by the strong feelings I have for my new denim jacket, I tend to be about 25 years behind the curve on "what's hot". (80s 4ever)

Why is Instagram totally awesome? It has great navigation and discovery potential, but more importantly it's a place where this photo makes sense...

"Starbucks @Target + a playground. Livin' it up in #Jersey."

If your life is full of wonderful things like carrot cake ice cream, broken bottles of wine (ok, that's probably not wonderful), oversized heart glasses, and 5k races, come find me on Instagram @CynthiaB27. I'd love to see the fun that's happening in the GCOGH family's world.

Go Chic or Go Home Giveaways

This week GCOGHers Veronika, Audrey, and Lilly are hosting giveaways for us on their respective blogs. Stop by Girl & Closet, Putting Me Together, and Lilly's Style for a chance to win a gift card!

A Side of Good Luck

On Monday Rob and I decided to walk over to one of our favorite restaurants to celebrate 10 years of being two peas in a pod. As we headed out the back door I suddenly felt something wet on my arm. The first thing out of my mouth was, "What just dripped on me?" To my horror I saw more "drips" on my hand and realized that, in fact, I had been pooped upon by a bird.

We rushed back inside only to discover that Rob had also been pooped on - all over his jacket. We both started laughing, cleaned ourselves up, and were thankful that my hair had been spared (that would not have been a laughing matter). We've since been told by multiple people that getting pooped on is very good luck. What a nice gift.
While I don't normally post these kinds of personal bits on the blog, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to let all of our members know how much we appreciate you, and that we hope a bird poops on your special occasion. We mean that with all of our heart.
